Waste Management Group
The Waste Management
Group is also incorporated under the aegis of the Centre. The aim of this
Group is to carry out research that will enhance environmental protection
and support best practices in the management of the environment. The Group
assists industry in developing laboratory capabilities and is also involved
in staff training and assessment of facilities. This work is supported by
the Environmental Engineering Laboratory at the School of Engineering which
is well equipped to perform analytical analysis of liquid waste and soils as
required by the National Environmental and Planning Agency (NEPA). The Group
is presently involved in research activities specifically in environmental
assessment, remediation technology, wastewater treatment plant design and
solid waste treatment, disposal and recycling. Its consultancy is mainly
focused on Water Analysis for Industry and private environmental companies. |
