Brown-Roomes Norene, Dr

Norene Brown-Roomes is currently a lecturer in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. She has taught several Hospitality Management modules.  Additionally, she has taught research methodologies and supervised several student research projects.  She is presently the Chair of the College Curriculum Committee for the College of Business and Management.  In her years of experience in academic leadership she has developed significant knowledge in the analysis, design, selecting formation and review of curricula. Norene Brown-Roomes holds a PhD in Human Sciences with a specialization in Hospitality Administration from Oklahoma State University.  Further, Dr. Brown-Roomes holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Technology, Jamaica as well as the internationally-recognized Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA), a professional designation of the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI).

She is an Article Editor for Sage Publishing.  She is a member of the HEART Trust/NTA NCTVET Hospitality and Tourism Sector Skills Council, and an External Assessor for the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ).  Her research interests include host community attitudes and wellbeing, social carrying capacity and teaching and learning processes.
