Project Launch and National Capacity Building Workshop

The University of Technology, Jamaica through the Caribbean Sustainable Energy and Innovation Institute (CSEII) planned and executed the launch of Jamaica's Global Fuel Economy Initiative (GFEI) July 28-30, 2015 with two days sensitization training and one day on developing a motor vehicle data baseline. Forty five persons attended. The project is sponsored by the United Nations Environment Programme - Division of Technology, Industry and Economics (UNEP - DTIE) and the Ministry of Water, Land, Environment and Climate Change (MWLECC) with the financial support of the Global Environmental Fund (GEF). UTech is the implementing agency. Currently 26 countries have embarked on the programme.
