Dean's Message

Welcome to the Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies (FELS), the faculty at the heart of academic endeavours at UTech, Jamaica. We train the teachers who teach the students who feed most of the other courses of studies at the institution. These teachers are trained in the School of Technical and Vocational Education (SOTAVE) in Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, Business Studies, Computer Studies, and Family and Consumer Studies. The School also trains fashion designers for Jamaica’s fledgling fashion industry.

In the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), we deliver the modules in languages and social sciences that complement the specialisations taught elsewhere at the university.

As a Faculty, we stand ready to provide you with a platform, a catwalk, or a soapbox to instruct, strut your stuff or communicate your ideas. I thank you for choosing to make your journey with us and wish you a successful career!
