UTech, Ja Graduation 2020

I am pleased to extend heartiest congratu- lations to our Graduating Class of 2020 on your well-deserved achievement. You have devoted many years of effort and sacrifice to the attainment of this goal, which might at times, have seemed distant and even unattainable; but you persevered and overcame all obstacles to achieve your certification. I also extend congratulations and indeed, gratitude to your families, sponsors, men- tors, your lecturers and administrators who have supported you in countless ways throughout your university journey. Graduands, you have completed your courses of study at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt our normal way of life. You should feel justly proud of the fact that you have displayed the resilience and fortitude to navigate successfully, the unprecedented challenges you encountered as you made your way through your final year of study. In this time of uncertainty, I am confident that the skills, knowledge and training gained from your UTech, Jamaica experi- ence have equipped you well, to confront and overcome the challenges as they emerge in your personal and professional lives. My charge to you, as you move forward on your journey down new and unexplored paths is to use your newly acquired compe- tences and capabilities to provide leader- ship in your respective communities and in your social and professional spheres; to influence change, and to offer innovative solutions in the rebuilding and transforma- tion of all areas of social and economic life. We are grateful for the time you have spent at the University of Technology, Jamaica, and we look forward to seeing how you will contribute your skills and knowledge to the noble pursuit of building your com- munities and your country. It is through your future work and contribution to nation building that your UTech, Jamaica certification will continue to multiply in value. I wish you every success as you go confi- dently into pursuing a lifetime of fulfilling your dreams of excellence, prosperity and the provision of service to others.
