University of Technology, Jamaica 91 The exhibition was held from June 18, 2019 to July 5, 2019, and included items which featured Mr. Seaga’s tenure as Chancellor which he held from 2010 until his passing. The exhibition also commemorated aspects of Mr. Seaga’s time as a national leader. Scores of visitors from the University and external persons visited the exhibition and entered commendations in the guest book. Over 100 hundred persons including Mrs. Carla Seaga, widow of Mr. Edward Seaga visited the exhibition. CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS Improving communication with our stakeholders UTech, Jamaica Mobile App The UTech, Jamaica Mobile App continues to provide a gateway to assist the University in improving communication with current and prospective students, donors and stakeholders on news, research, institutional achievements, events and operational issues. Downloads of the UTech, Jamaica Mobile App exceeded 5,000 for the reporting period. Campus Newsletter VOICES, the bi-monthly University news magazine continues to be a major tool in communicating with the internal and external stakeholders. The magazine highlights the University’s major achievements and developments in scholarship, research, outreach, the arts and in sport. Issues of the magazine are published on the University’s website and in limited print copy and distributed to students, staff, alumni, members of Council, institutional partners, national libraries, tertiary institution heads, Ministers of Government and other key stakeholders. Four (4) issues of the VOICES Magazine were produced and disseminated for the reporting period. University Website The Corporate Communications Unit continued to coordinate content for the website through the established Website Content Management System (CMS). The Corporate Communications Unit maintained currency of news and events platforms on the Home Page of the Website. UTech, Jamaica Experts The UTech, Jamaica bank of experts’ continued to be highly utilized by media practitioners seeking expert opinion from the University on various national issues as well as for other public speaking engagements. Communication and Protocol Support y Events management, communication and protocol support services were provided for over eighty (75) University events. y The Corporate Communications Unit prepared and disseminated a steady flow of information on developments at the University, in the form of news releases, press advisories, press invitations, captioned photographs and advertorials. y Over 60 speeches and messages were prepared for delivery by the Acting President, Acting Deputy President and Pro-Chancellor during the reporting period. ALUMNI RELATIONS OFFICE The Alumni Relations objectives of the University are three-fold i.e. 1) To connect Alumni to the University, 2) To connect Alumni to each other and 3) To connect Alumni to the current student body. The overall goal is to strengthen the relationship between the University and its Alumni Community in order to enhance the personal, professional and business development of the Alumni, while receiving their monetary, advocacy and volunteerism support. During the period 2019-20, the following activities were facilitated in fulfillment of the Alumni Relations’ objectives. Fig. 1 shows Volume 3, Issue 3 of the Voices magazine
