Special Events Bachelor of Pharmacy – University of Technology Association of Pharmacy Students (UTAPS) Annual Pinning Ceremony - Induction for 1st Year Students (October 3, 2019) BSc in Pharmaceutical Technology - University of Technology Pharmaceutical Technology Students Association (UT-PTSA) Annual Pinning Ceremony - Induction for 1st Year Students (October 11, 2019) The Caribbean School of Nursing celebrated the progression of over three hundred students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and the Bachelor of Science in Midwifery at the 9th Annual Striping Ceremony held on February 7, 2020 at the University’s Papine Campus and on February 14 at the Western Campus. The ceremony, themed “Nursing and Midwifery Students: Emerging Health Leaders” and “Empathy & Compassion, the Hallmark of Caring” respectively saw the presentation of symbolic stripes to 1st to 4th year students in recognition of their successful completion of academic and professional requirements, and for the display of good behaviour and attitudes. Community Service In partnership with Mustard Seed Community, Lecturer, Ms. Lisa McDonald engaged students from primary level schools in the “Girls Empowerment Camp” hosted by the Community Service and Development department at UTech, Jamaica in June 2019. Staff of the Caribbean School of Nursing contributed to the funding of ‘COVID-19 care packages’ for Nursing students. Mr. Fan Jianghong, Commercial and Economic Counsellor, Chinese Embassy in Jamaica and Dr. Adella Campbell, Head, Caribbean School of Nursing (CSON) interact with Critical Care nursing students, CSON, UTech, Jamaica at the farewell reception for students en route to China. The 9th Annual Striping and Pinning Ceremony was held on February 14, 2020 under the theme “Empathy & Compassion, the Hallmark of Caring”. The keynote speaker was Dr Christopher Tufton, Minister of Health and Wellness. Approximately two hundred and sixteen (216) students were in attendance.
