The University of Technology, Jamaica in collaboration with the Office of the Information Commissioner presents the International Data Privacy Conference 2026, under the theme, “Your Privacy Programme and You: Managing Privacy in the Age of AI and Digital Mistrust”.

This conference will convene policymakers, academics, industry leaders, and data protection professionals to explore how organizations can responsibly manage personal data in a rapidly evolving digital environment. The President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), Mr. J. Trevor Hughes, will serve as the main guest presenter, bringing an international perspective on emerging privacy trends, artificial intelligence, and global best practices.

Another key feature of the event is a panel discussion titled “The Use of AI to Manage Privacy, Enhance Digital Resilience, and Optimize Operational Efficacy.” This discussion will focus on how organizations can responsibly leverage AI to strengthen privacy programmes, improve resilience against cyber and data risks, and drive operational efficiency.

Purpose and Objectives

Raise Awareness: Increase awareness among both professionals and the general public about the importance of data privacy and their role in ensuring compliance.

Educate and Empower: Provide actionable insights for organizations and individuals on enhancing their privacy programmes following the implementation of the Data Protection Act 2020.
