Course Details
The Programme is designed to broadly strengthen the teaching profession by building the instructional and leadership capacity of current technical education practitioners in schools, ministries and the industries, as well as to prepare prospective candidates aspiring for higher degree, PhD in Career and Technical Education. The programme will enable participants to meet the challenges of the con temporary educational and workplace environments. It is focused on high level capacity development of the participants in the areas of research, project management, educational leadership and training in Career and Technical Education  Â
The MPhil Programme consists of four components as follows: Core Modules (6 credits) Technical Specialization (9 credits), Research Seminar (3 credits) and Research Dissertation (22 credits). Students have the option to select modules from other graduate programmes across the University to satisfy programme requirement. The programme will be delivered on both part-time and full-time bases. The part-time option will be done within 22 months (covering four semesters and two summer sessions), commencing in September each year. The full-time option will be delivered within a minimum of 18 months covering 4 semesters and one summer session starting in September each year. Both options have provisions for online delivery mode. Programme modules shall be assessed by coursework, portfolios, examinations, presentation and grading of seminars and research dissertation.  Â

Entry Requirements
All applicants for the MPhil/PhD degree in Career & Technical Education are expected to have at least a Bachelor’s degree with first class or upper second class honours, or its equivalent (at least 3.0 GPA) in the related career, technical, vocational education, industrial arts, or any related occupational education disciplines obtained from an accredited university or institution. Individuals are required to submit transcripts and satisfy an interview.
