Course Details
Informed by the technical orientation and mission of UTech, Jamaica as well as Jamaica’s national development plan, Vision 2030, the course of study seeks to produce graduates who possess the conceptual knowledge and technical skills to:
- evaluate the role of media technology in global social and cultural change
- innovate in the production, curation, archiving and promotion of creative cultural content across multiple media platforms
- lead Caribbean cultural and creative media enterprises
- integrate policy concerns into the production of cultural content, and
- impact the positive evolution of Caribbean creative industry output through ethical design and use of research.
Mode of Delivery
The MAMCT is offered with most modules being delivered remotely. Face-to-face is reserved optionally for two practical modules, Digital Production Studio, and Digital Storytelling and Media Production, which will be delivered on-site from the UTech, Ja. Papine campus. Students who prefer or need to work remotely will be accommodated in these modules via hybrid modality, once they can demonstrate that they have their own equipment. Research Project, which, depending on students’ interests, may have a practical component, will also be facilitated through independent work in studio on campus or remotely with students’ own equipment.

Entry Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in media, communication, cultural studies, history, entertainment, heritage studies, archaeology, information technology, any relevant social or behavioural science, or a
related field with a GPA of 2.7 or above. - If you do not meet regular matriculation requirements, eligibility may be determined by Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)
