The Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BSM) is a specialist undergraduate program intended to prepare students for a specialized career as registered Midwives. The program provides the essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to deliver high-quality patient care to the expectant family in midwifery.
The BSM program is structured as a 2-year day full-time course of study, comprising 27 modules, spanning 4 semesters and 2 summer sessions.

Program Structure
The program is divided into two main areas:Â
- Instructive Teaching Sessions: These include classroom, clinical visits, and skills lab instruction covering theoretical content and clinical skills introduction and practice.Â
- Experiential Learning: Students engage in clinical sessions in hospitals and health centers island-wide allowing them to form theoretical and practical linkages which assist in the development of critical thinking and clinical skills.Â

Entry Requirements
- Registered Midwives (RM)s who have completed an accredited midwifery programme and have attained a Certificate or Diploma or Associate Degree in midwifery.
- They should be registered midwives (direct entry or Registered Nurse midwife) with current licence in the country of practice.
- Applicants must provide a compiled portfolio of clinical practice hours as a midwife.
- Successful applicants would have met the entry requirements, including a successful interview.
