B.Sc. Mathematics and Education was developed to increase the population of mathematics teachers capable of teaching mathematics at the secondary level in the education system. This will ultimately assist the country in improving the performance of students in mathematics. In addition, the curriculum aims to produce graduates who demonstrate an awareness of the importance of professionalism, who are flexible, analytical, problem solvers and well-rounded individuals committed to lifelong learning and service.

Course Details
The B.Sc. Mathematics and Education is a four-year degree course of study comprising of 135 credit hours is done over eight semesters. Â
 This Course of Study is designed with the capabilities to:Â
- Equip graduates with depth knowledge of mathematics as well as provide the specific techniques, skills and teaching methods necessary for them to become effective educators for the delivery of the content.
- Assist the country in improving the performance of students in mathematics at all levels by providing competent mathematics teachers.
- Equip student teachers in conducting education and mathematics-based research.
- Train student teachers to appreciate and utilize technology to enhance the teaching and learning process.
- Prepare Mathematics teachers who will provide the appropriate quality leadership, administration and supervision in the education system.
- Provide prospective teachers with skills in curriculum planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of mathematics-based courses.
