Course Details
The Bachelor of Science in Finance & Technology aims to produce graduates who will be leaders of the international financial community. The programme’s primary goal is to develop students with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue competitive professional and academic careers.
It equips students with the academic knowledge to operate in the dynamic and competitive world of financial markets. The course of study is designed to be relevant and practical. It allows candidates to follow a blend of specialist and generalist aspects of the banking and finance field to suit the industry and individual’s needs. It also provides an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the theories and evolution of Financial Technology (FinTech), data-driven financial modeling, financial data mining and machine learning, financial data analytics, and innovations in the financial sector, including artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, bitcoin, cloud computing, machine learning, internet of things (IoT), crowdfunding, and Peer-to-peer (P2P) lending.
This course of study should provide a foundation of professional knowledge, professional skills, and professional values, ethics, and attitudes that enable graduates to continue to learn and adapt to change throughout their professional lives. These capabilities will enable them as professional financial analysts to identify problems, know what knowledge is required to solve problems, know where to find this knowledge and how to apply it ethically to achieve appropriate solutions.
It is expected that the student who completes the BSc in Finance and Technology will be able to:
