The Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Entertainment Design, Production, and Technology (EDPT) is an innovative four-year full-time programme that prepares students for rewarding careers in the entertainment and creative industries. Course Details

The EDPT programme provides a well-rounded education through three specialized majors, allowing students to tailor their studies to their career aspirations. Each major is designed to develop core competencies while offering practical and theoretical knowledge in entertainment design and production. 

Specialized Majors: 

1.Electrical Design & Production
Focuses on the technical aspects of entertainment production, including audio, lighting, and electrical planning.
Modules include: 

  • Sound Dynamics & Audio Processing 
  • Drafting for Entertainment Productions 
  • Advanced Entertainment Planning and Design 
  • Advanced Lighting Design and Technology 
  • Introduction to Entertainment Design, Production, and Technology 

2. Audio Design & Production
Explores the integration of audio and video technologies for indoor and studio entertainment, emphasizing sound design and digital electronics.
Modules include: 

  • Audio & Video for Studio & Indoor Entertainment 
  • Entertainment Design and Production in Context 
  • Advanced Entertainment Planning and Design 
  • Architectural Drawing 
  • Principles of Digital Electronics 
  • Minor Project: Entertainment Design and Innovation 

3. Structural & Scenic Design
Provides training in the art and science of set and prop design, from broadcast sets to outdoor scenic constructions.
Modules include: 

  • Broadcast Set Design 
  • Props Fabrication 
  • Outdoor Set Design and Construction 
  • Technical Contract Design 
  • Advanced Digital Designing for Entertainment 
  • Construction for Scenic Design

Entry Requirements

  • 5 CSEC/GCE O-Level passes including English Language, Mathematics, and 2 other subjects in a related field (design and technology, industrial arts, theatre arts, etc.) OR
  • 3 CSEC/GCE O-Level passes, inclusive of Mathematics and English Language, PLUS TWO NCTVET Levels 2 or 3 or equivalent qualifications from other accredited bodies/institutions (e.g. City & Guilds, CVQ) as determined by the NCTVET  OR
  • Matriculation via Prior Learning Assessment
