Course Details
The EDPT programme provides a well-rounded education through three specialized majors, allowing students to tailor their studies to their career aspirations. Each major is designed to develop core competencies while offering practical and theoretical knowledge in entertainment design and production.Â
Specialized Majors:Â
1.Electrical Design & Production
Focuses on the technical aspects of entertainment production, including audio, lighting, and electrical planning.
Modules include:Â
- Sound Dynamics & Audio ProcessingÂ
- Drafting for Entertainment ProductionsÂ
- Advanced Entertainment Planning and DesignÂ
- Advanced Lighting Design and TechnologyÂ
- Introduction to Entertainment Design, Production, and TechnologyÂ
2. Audio Design & Production
Explores the integration of audio and video technologies for indoor and studio entertainment, emphasizing sound design and digital electronics.
Modules include:Â
- Audio & Video for Studio & Indoor EntertainmentÂ
- Entertainment Design and Production in ContextÂ
- Advanced Entertainment Planning and DesignÂ
- Architectural DrawingÂ
- Principles of Digital ElectronicsÂ

3. Structural & Scenic Design
Provides training in the art and science of set and prop design, from broadcast sets to outdoor scenic constructions.

- Outdoor Set Design and ConstructionÂ
- Technical Contract DesignÂ
- Advanced Digital Designing for EntertainmentÂ

Entry Requirements
- 5 CSEC/GCE O-Level passes including English Language, Mathematics, and 2 other subjects in a related field (design and technology, industrial arts, theatre arts, etc.) OR
- 3 CSEC/GCE O-Level passes, inclusive of Mathematics and English Language, PLUS TWO NCTVET Levels 2 or 3 or equivalent qualifications from other accredited bodies/institutions (e.g. City & Guilds, CVQ) as determined by the NCTVETÂ OR
- Matriculation via Prior Learning Assessment
