Course Details
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems degree’s two majors are Data Analytics and Technology Entrepreneurship with an opportunity to minor in the other. Data analytics major students cover a range of courses such as Data Protection and Regulation, Data Analysis and Big Data Analytics and Warehousing intending to equip them with the prerequisite skills required to analyse and interpret complex data within an organisation. Technology Entrepreneurship strands include modules such as Technology Start-up, Technology Business Acceleration, and Technology Entrepreneurship which equip students with knowledge and skills to start and manage a technology-based venture and develop innovative projects for organisations to excel in their market niche. Â
Course AimsÂ
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems aim to produce graduates who can: –Â Â
- Create computer-based systems that enhance organizational performance and provide a competitive advantage over rivals.Â
- Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of organizational functions to accurately develop the various requirements for different functional areas of an information system.Â
- Identify opportunities for technological innovations that could create businesses or enhance organizational efficiency.Â
- Leverage research to guide initiatives in computer information systems and technopreneurship.Â
- Effectively convey information related to computer information systems to both technical and non-technical audiences through clear and professional written and verbal presentations.Â
- Demonstrate a comprehensive education encompassing fundamental knowledge across various academic disciplines, strong teamwork skills, and ethical principles that foster positive attitudesÂ
