The University of Technology, Jamaica (Utech, Ja.) is seeking a top-tier candidate to fill a prestigious position within our renowned institution. We are looking for individuals with exceptional qualifications and are ready to make a significant impact in the field of education and innovation.

The Vice President and Chief Business and Finance Officer (VP & CBFO) report to the President and oversees the accounting, business, and finance functions of the institution. The VP & CBFO is responsible for implementing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard the institution’s assets.

Salary Range: $ 11,455,206 p.a. – $15,405,979 p.a.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing institution-wide financial policies,
  • Ensuring the accuracy and security of financial accounting systems, and
  • Meeting statutory obligations timely.
  • The VP & CBFO must also build strong relationships with academic and administrative leaders.

Experience & Education

  • Master’s Degree in: Finance/Business/Accounting, or other equivalent qualification.
  • Chartered Accountant

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Have in-depth knowledge of international accounting and financial reporting standards
  • Have in-depth knowledge of Jamaica’s taxation and labour laws; financial regulations relating to public sector bodies in Jamaica and statutory payroll regulations
  • Have at least ten (10) years’ experience at the senior management level in a large corporation or tertiary institution
  • Possess sound knowledge of the University’s accounting policies and procedures.

Benefits

  • Uniform: $60,758.46 p.a.
  • Book Grant: $150,000.00 p.a. reimbursable
