The Vice President and Chief Business and Finance Officer (VP & CBFO) report to the President and oversees the accounting, business, and finance functions of the institution. The VP & CBFO is responsible for implementing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard the institution’s assets.
Salary Range: $ 11,455,206 p.a. – $15,405,979 p.a.

Duties & Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing institution-wide financial policies,
- Ensuring the accuracy and security of financial accounting systems, and
- Meeting statutory obligations timely.
- The VP & CBFO must also build strong relationships with academic and administrative leaders.
Experience & Education
- Master’s Degree in: Finance/Business/Accounting, or other equivalent qualification.
- Chartered Accountant
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Have in-depth knowledge of international accounting and financial reporting standards
- Have in-depth knowledge of Jamaica’s taxation and labour laws; financial regulations relating to public sector bodies in Jamaica and statutory payroll regulations
- Have at least ten (10) years’ experience at the senior management level in a large corporation or tertiary institution
- Possess sound knowledge of the University’s accounting policies and procedures.
