Develop, implement, and review library policies, procedures, and strategic plans.

Manage and develop library services to support the university’s teaching and research needs.

Promote library resources and services to students, faculty, and administrators.

Monitor library usage data and feedback to improve services and resources.

Plan and implement library projects and new information technologies.

Prepare and manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure financial control.

Plan, organize, and delegate duties to library staff.

Engage in scholarly activities including research, professional development, and publication.

Oversee library orientation programmes for users.

Serve on university boards and committees and represent the university at forums.

Prepare quarterly, annual, and special reports.

Collaborate with faculty to select and recommend instructional materials for library acquisition.

Description
The University Librarian will provide dynamic and visionary leadership for the Calvin McKain Library as it develops its strategic position in a student-focused and research-intensive University. He/she is required to embrace the opportunities of new technologies while retaining the traditional values of academic librarianship.

Duties & Responsibilities
Experience & Education
- Masters Degree in Library Sciences or equivalent qualifications.
- Postgraduate qualification in Management.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of management experience in an Academic Library.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Ability to develop partnerships for funding and development of the Library.
- Knowledge of Policies and procedures governing the Institution
- Knowledge of International library standards and systems.
- Knowledge of an academic library.

Salary range: Level 11 (Band 11) $ 7,716,512.00 p.a. – $ 10,377,851.00 p.a.
