Hubert Edwards is an Associate at Graham Thompson, where he practices in financial services, regulatory matters, litigation, and tax. He is widely recognized across the Caribbean as a governance, risk management, and regulatory expert, with a career spanning public accounting, banking, financial regulation, and consultancy. His work focuses on strengthening institutional integrity, improving financial systems, and contributing to national and regional economic discourse.
Over the course of his career, Edwards has built a reputation for combining technical depth with practical insight. He trained with KPMG in Jamaica and Deloitte in The Bahamas, rising to Senior Manager and gaining extensive experience in audit, financial reporting, and enterprise risk. He later transitioned into financial regulation at the Central Bank of The Bahamas before serving as Deputy Managing Director at Bank of The Bahamas, where he operated at executive decision-making level. As founder of NextLevelSolutions Bahamas, he has advised organizations across the Caribbean on governance and regulatory compliance. He is also a respected public commentator, having hosted The Essentials! on Guardian Radio 96.9FM for nearly a decade and contributed to programmes such as You and Your Money and The Financial Voice, shaping dialogue on fiscal policy, governance reform, and economic development.
Edwards’ professional foundation began at the College of Arts, Science and Technology (CAST), now the University of Technology, Jamaica, where he distinguished himself as Student of the Year and Most All-Round Commerce Student. His early leadership roles, combined with academic excellence and athletic representation, reflected a well-rounded development that would later underpin his multifaceted career. His progression across auditing, regulation, banking, consultancy, and now law reflects a deliberate accumulation of expertise across interconnected systems.
Beyond his professional work, Edwards is an author of Whispers of a Country Boy – From Bening to The World and Think, Act, Grow – Thoughts and Reflections for Self-Leadership, both of which reflect his commitment to personal growth, disciplined thinking, and purposeful living. He maintains an active interest in public dialogue and thought leadership, driven by a belief in service, captured in his guiding principle: “If not to serve humanity, what else is a man good for?”
