Engr. Godfrey L. Boyd, JP, PE is a distinguished professional engineer, executive, and UTech, Ja. 60th Anniversary Distinguished Alumni Awardee with thirty-seven years of leadership and technical experience spanning the energy, health, manufacturing, and petroleum sectors in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.

He currently serves as General Manager of the Petroleum Company of Jamaica Limited (PETCOM), where he is responsible for strategic planning, operational oversight, profitability, and the delivery of petroleum and petrochemical products across a national network of service stations, LPG plants, and industrial customers. His leadership at PETCOM has included guiding the organization’s business strategy, infrastructure development, and operational excellence.

Prior to PETCOM, Engr. Boyd held several senior leadership roles within the South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA), including Chief Executive Officer of Kingston Public and Victoria Jubilee Hospitals, Parish Manager for Kingston & St. Andrew and St. Catherine, and Director of Operations & Maintenance. In these roles, he oversaw complex healthcare systems comprising hospitals, health centres, public health services, and national ports of entry.

His earlier career was spent at the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS), where he progressed through engineering and executive roles in system operations, transmission and distribution, substation maintenance, and support services during a pivotal period of sector reform.

A committed contributor to professional development and public service, Engr. Boyd is a Past President of the Jamaican Institution of Engineers (JIE) and has served extensively in academic, advisory, and regulatory capacities, including as a former Adjunct Associate Professor and Lecturer at the University of Technology, Jamaica. He has also contributed to national policy and standards development in energy, healthcare infrastructure, and engineering practice.

Engr. Boyd holds an MBA, a BSc in Electrical & Computer Engineering, and multiple postgraduate and professional certifications in engineering management, project management, healthcare quality, and international maintenance management. He is also a Justice of the Peace, a lifelong advocate for leadership development, and an accomplished martial artist.
