Welcome to the Joint Colleges of Medicine, Oral Health & Veterinary Sciences.  

I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to all visitors, whether you are prospective students, current students, faculty, or members of the community.  The college has a strong team of committed staff who are passionate in serving our students.  With the wide range of course offerings, Doctor of Medical Dentistry, Dental Auxiliary, and Public Health Courses of Study, we are dedicated to improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities in Jamaica and the region. In the Joint Colleges, the students are exposed to cutting edge dental technology and impactful public health courses.  Our goal is to develop graduates and leaders who are well-equipped with the requisite knowledge, skillset and experience to address the complex challenges of oral and public health in an ever-changing world.  

Students are provided with comprehensive education that integrates the latest scientific knowledge, dental skills, and public health principles. The college prides itself in fostering a dynamic learning environment where dental care, public health matters, research, and strong community engagement thrive.  We believe in the power of collaboration and interdisciplinary approaches to address health challenges. Our faculty members are leaders in their respective fields locally and internationally, and they are committed to providing our students with a transformative learning experience that prepares them to become future leaders in oral and public health disciplines.   

Our graduates can be seen at the airports, in the public health facilities and private facilities.  In the chaos of the recent Covid-19 pandemic, the public health nurses provided the much needed support to the country.  Additionally, the dental school has been impactful in meeting the dental needs of patients while shaping the minds of our students. An average of one thousand patients are seen each month in our dental clinic and our students are also involved in outreach dental activities in several communities in Jamaica.  At the end of their studies, these students would have garnered adequate skill and experience, which makes them work ready graduates.
