Fundamentals of Politics
This introduces students to some of the basic issues of government and politics in the modern world. Students will acquire a better understanding of the primary concepts associated with the discipline of political science.
They will also be exposed to different political systems in the Third World States, with special emphasis being placed on the Caribbean States. With their new knowledge, they will be able to critically assess political affairs for themselves.
Introduction to Sociology
Students are introduced to sociology as a scientific discipline that examines society and human social behaviour via systematic observation and analysis.
It is also described as a corpus of knowledge that serves as a lens through which to view and make sense of the various aspects of social life. Students get the chance to comprehend and evaluate their own social reality because the subject largely draws on the sociological experience and perspective of the Caribbean.
Understanding Ethics
This module is intended to develop the student’s ability to think critically about the approaches taken to resolve moral dilemmas that may arise at any given time.
This entails examining the theories and viewpoints of leaders who have approached the problems from various angles as well as their justifications for the results reached.
Ethics and Society
Students will learn about Western civilization’s intellectual foundations and ethical frameworks. In order to grasp moral dilemmas, students will be introduced to both a historical and a methodical approach.
They will look at fundamental moral questions pertaining to human life with an emphasis on modern applications and individual professions, with particular relevance to architecture. Students will also get an introduction to Western civilization’s philosophical foundations and ethical frameworks.
There will also be an exposure of both a historical and systematic approach to comprehending moral dilemmas. An examination of fundamental moral concerns pertaining to human life with an emphasis on modern applications and individual careers.
