The Dance Ensemble’s mission is to:

  1. To teach students the fundamental techniques of Modern Contemporary and Folk dance and  improve body awareness through the alignment of hands/feet coordination exercises. as well as the isolation of body parts through demonstration and practice.  
  2. Students will be able to perform simple modern, folk, jazz and praise dance combinations with intent and confidence. The emphasis is on building performance quality and execution of choreography.
  3. The ensemble aims to develop a wide range of repertoire covering modern, folk, dancehall, praise and interpretive to be performed upon request.
  4. The ensemble annually enters the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission Festival Dance Competition.
  5. The ensemble aims to also participate in various festivals and concerts. 

 Dance Co-curricular is offered Semesters 1 and 2

Fridays 4-7pm
