Course Details
The focus of the curriculum for the MNA Course of Study is on health, the anaesthetized patient, and the nurse anaesthetist. In preparing the nurse anaesthetist for optimum care of the patient the concepts of caring critical thinking the use of appropriate technology safety and sound clinical judgment are interwoven in the curriculumÂ
Anaesthesia is both a science and an art that requires the practitioner a high level of competence skill knowledge and the right attitude to be able to care for patients before during and after surgical procedures constantly monitoring body functions, Â
Mode of Delivery – Essentially face-to-face but three (3) modules use a blended approach to the delivery of lectures and internships in hospitals.Â

Entry Requirements
- Minimum requirement GPA of 2.7 or its equivalent.
- Must be a Registered Nurse with at least five (5) years working experience.
- Midwifery qualification is optional. Registered Nurses without midwifery qualification will be required to complete twelve (12)weeks rotation in maternity units prior to admission.
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year operating theatre experience Critical Care nursing experience would be an asset.
- Minimum requirement may be determined by Prior Learning
