Nurse Anaesthetists are essential members of the health team providing anaesthesia which enables surgical procedures to be conducted effectively and efficiently to the Caribbean population. The need for these advanced practiced nurses emerged in 1981 when it was acknowledged that there were not enough physician anaesthetists to meet the surgical needs of the patients The MNA Course of Study is highly clinical which warrants a higher than usual credit weighting.
