Course Details

The BSc in Animation Development and Production is an innovative four-year programme designed to prepare students for the dynamic and evolving animation sector. Combining art and technology, the programme offers training in areas such as 3D modeling, character animation, digital sound, and animation production management. Students will build proficiency in industry-standard tools and techniques, ensuring their readiness for roles like animators, storyboard artists, or even studio entrepreneurs. The programme aims to:

  • develop skilled graduates who can create, innovate, and lead in animation production.
  • meet the growing demand for animators locally and internationally.
  • integrate creativity with ethical, professional, and entrepreneurial practices.

Students will engage in animation-specific courses such as 2D and 3D animation, character design, storyboarding, and animation production techniques. These are complemented by foundational modules in life drawing, storytelling, and animation principles during the first two years. Advanced topics include animation business operations, digital media integration, and a capstone project to showcase their skills in a professional portfolio. This curriculum ensures graduates are well-prepared for diverse roles in the animation industry. The programme emphasizes hands-on learning, professional development, and industry internships, ensuring that graduates are highly employable and well-prepared for global opportunities.

  • 5 CSEC/GCE O-Level passes inclusive of English Language and Mathematics or equivalent.. Visual Arts is a preferred subject
  • All applicants are required to submit a portfolio of Drawings along with their applications. An interview may be required for some applicants.
