Course Details
The B.Ed. TVET in Business and Computer Studies offers two specializations to cater to diverse career paths:Â
- Business Studies
This specialization is tailored for individuals passionate about accounting, finance, and business management. Students will gain expertise in financial systems, auditing practices, and taxation, enabling them to effectively teach or work within the corporate sector.
Modules include:
- Introduction to Financial Accounting
- Cost and Management Accounting
- Auditing
- Taxation
- Electronic Accounting
2.Computer Technology with Accounting
This specialization bridges the gap between computer technology and accounting, offering a unique blend of IT and financial skills. Students will learn database management, computer animation, and essential computing skills tailored for educators, alongside foundational accounting principles.
Modules include:
- Introduction to Financial Accounting
- Computing Essentials for Educators
- Database Management System
- Computer Animation

Entry Requirements
- 5 CSEC/GCE O-Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics,
- OR a 3-year Teachers’ Diploma in Secondary Education.
- A CSEC/GCE O-Level pass in Information Technology or 80 hours of instruction in computing would be an asset (for the Computer Technology option).
- Passes in two (2) business subjects would be beneficial for those seeking to enrol in the Business Studies option.
- All applicants are required to sit an interview.
