University of Technology, Jamaica 67 Local and International Linkages PCJ/UTech, Ja. Energy Audit Training for Public Sector Property Managers The faculty partnered with the PCJ for an Energy Audit Training programme for public sector property managers. Objectives included the provision of training to build the capacity of property/facilities managers and administrators to be better energy monitors and influence behaviour change in the public sector. The training was delivered at two workshops in July and September 2019. LACCEI 2019 The Faculty co-hosted the 17th staging of The Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions” (LACCEI) conference at the Montego Bay Convention Centre from July 24-26, 2019. Three hundred and twenty-eight persons attended from twenty-two countries. Along with the paper presentations, the multi-conference staged the preconference European Accreditation (EUR-ACE) workshop, the inaugural tribology conference and the Organization of American States (OAS) workshops. The conference legacy for Jamaica will be the integration of our engineers into the international alliances engineering organisations. This 3-year process will begin with the training of 60 Jamaican nationals in EUR-ACE and ABET accreditation, the establishment of a non-governmental organisation and the initiation of the accreditation process. Caribbean Society of Industrial Engineers Twenty-three students were registered to this regional body of Industrial Engineering Professionals. The objective is to provide a broad Caribbean Network of Industrial Engineering. Universidad de Oriente Fourteen students went to the Universidad de Oriente for their annual Cuban Immersion experience. Their stay was scheduled for 30 days commencing March 9, 2020. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, however, forced their return on March 24th, 2020.
