University of Technology, Jamaica 24 Western Campus The Western Campus currently offers graduate, undergraduate and pre-university courses, in addition to professional and continuing studies through partnerships with the various colleges and faculties of the University. The Western Campus offers courses in the College of Business and Management, The College of Health Sciences, The Faculty of Law, The School of Computing and Information Technology, The School of Building and Land Management and the UTech Academy. The Western Campus has two campus sites plus one franchise location in Montego Bay, St. James located at 17 Dome Street, (the head office and interdisciplinary resource centre); Caribbean Nursing School located at 2 Cottage Close and franchise location at the Montego Bay Community College. New Course Offering The Faculty of The Built Environment introduced two undergraduate courses for the academic Year 2019/20 to the Western Campus. The programmes are the Diploma in Construction Management and Bachelor of Science in Construction Management. Collaborations/Linkages Gateway Cooperative Credit Union The Gateway Cooperative Credit Union has partnered with UTech, Ja. – Western Campus in a co-branding collaboration aimed at providing reduced loan rates to students and staff. The offering includes a concessionary rate to students and staff and expedited loan processing. GWest Medical An agreement was reached with GWest Medical to provide discounted services to members of staff. The proposal was approved by the Medical Centre. Members of staff and students can now enjoy a 10% discounted rate from the medical enterprise upon presenting their UTech, Jamaica identification card. This benefit can be enjoyed at the GWest Urgent Care, GWest General Practice, GWest Laboratory, Radiology West, Cornmed Pharmacy, Zierlich International Dialysis Centre, Dental Lab and Facial, Oral and Surgical Associates. Governor General’s National Youth Consultative “I Believe” Conference On Wednesday, November 6, 2019 a group of students across faculties from the Western Campus participated in the 2019 Governor General’s Consultative Conference held at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, Rose Hall, Montego Bay, St. James. The theme focused on Human Trafficking.
