Medical support requests For the period in review, 107 medical support requests were processed. The requests included prescriptions filled at the UTech, Jamaica Pharmacy, x-rays, scans and MRIs, orthopaedic, physiotherapy and physiatrist services. JADCO Anti-Doping Student Athlete Workshop JADCO conducted a workshop for student athletes on February 4, 2016. Twenty Seven (27) persons attended. The workshop included sessions on: JADCO’s Functions and Responsibilities The Doping Control Process The Importance of Blood Testing and Process Involved Student Athlete Policy On September 21 st , 2015 a review of the student athlete draft policy commenced. The review aimed to address issues relating to scholarship and to align procedures and practices to that of the existing university scholarship protocol. JADCO Anti-Doping Workshop Administrative staff, Miss Moy Ann Simpson and Mrs. Dacia Bent Wilson attended the JADCO Anti- Doping Workshop held on November 6, 2016. Mrs Carola Russell and Miss Moy Ann Simpson attended the JADCO symposium held January 28, 2016. The workshop included sessions on: JADCO’s Functions and Responsibilities The Doping Control Process The Importance of Blood Testing and Process Involved The Prohibited Substances and Methods by a Medical Practitioner, Dr. Alfred Dawes The JADCO workshop and symposium helped to equip participants with the relevant knowledge to guide student athletes on doping matters. SPORT FACILITIES Facility Usage The facilities are used by both internal and external customers. The sports facilities consist of ten (10) areas: a multipurpose auditorium, swimming pool, two playing fields, squash court, weights room, golf green, outdoor tennis court, basketball/netball court and a volleyball court. The auditorium and swimming pool are popular with external users and are a source of income. However, the auditorium, in particular, is in great demand from internal users as the only space suitable for major university functions and for a variety of community and sporting events organized by faculties and departments, students and staff, which limits its JADCO Anti-Doping Student Athlete Workshop JADCO conducted a workshop for student athletes on February 4, 2016.
