Both male and female teams placed second in the Track & Field Intercollegiate Championships. The rugby team placed third, UTech’s highest ranking yet. International Competitions The Penn Relays Carnival The Annual Penn Relays Carnival was held April 28-30, 2016 in Philadelphia, USA. The University was represented by a team of twenty seven (27) student athletes and six (6) management/administrative staff. The result of the Penn Relays is as follows: Men: 4 x 100 College Men 5 th ; 39.73 4 x 200 College Men 4 th ; 1:23.24 4 x 400 College Men 4 th ; 3:10.17 Best individual perfor- mance for the men: Long Jump 1 st place Damar Whyte 7.18 College Men 400M Hurdles: 3 rd place Marvin Williams 51.74 Women: 4 x 200 College: 2 nd place; 1:32.69 4 x 400 College: 3 rd place; 3:30.75 Best individual perfor- mance for the women: 100M College 2 nd Shimayra Williams 11:54 100M College hurdles final 2 nd Megan Simmonds 13:2 City of Miramar/UTech, Jamaica Multi Cultural Games The City of Miramar/UTech, Jamaica Multi Cultural Games was cancelled for 2016 due to limited funding.
