Proceeds from this lecture were donated to the School of Pharmacy’s student support initiative. Enhancing Health Care Training Across the Caribbean Through the use of distance technologies, the College continued to expand access to its courses of study to prospective students within and outside of Jamaica. Through this initiative the College has managed to maintain its top position on the University’s list of having the greatest number of international students enrolled in its programmes. The continued use of online/blended modalities has resulted in the enrolment of students in the United States of America, Bahamas, Anguilla, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, Canada, Antigua and Belize. Special Projects Inter-departmental collaboration The College of Health Sciences partnered with the Office of Community Service and Development and the Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies in the writing of the winning submission for a project, “Fi Wi Jamaica,” valued at over J$30M. Collaboration with Nestle Jamaica and CAC for Healthy Eating Campaign On Tuesday, July 21, 2015, the Healthy Eating Campaign, a partnership between the College of Health Sciences, Nestle Jamaica and the Consumer Affairs Commission was launched at the Papine Campus. The Cynthia Shako Early Childhood Education and Day Care Centre Both the Cynthia Shako Day Care Centre for Children and the UTech Rehabilitation Centre for Children Nursing students perform a blood pressure check on a patron in attendance at Research, Technology and Innovation Day at the UTech, Jamaica Papine campus.
