The University of Technology, Jamaica Administrative Staff Union is a registered Association under the Trade Union Act of Jamaica representing the interest of the administrative staff employed to the University of Technology, Jamaica. As a registered body, the Association must present an audited record of its annual activities to the Registrar General Department. The Association is recognized by the University of Technology, Jamaica, Joint Confederation of Trade Unions, the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service and the Ministry of Education as the body with bargaining rights for the University’s administrative staff. UTASA currently represents administrative staff from levels 2 – 11 and as such, negotiates with the Ministries of Finance and Education and UTech with regards to salaries, uniform, travelling, lunch allowance, tuition discount and other benefits for staff. The Association has had an affiliation with the National Workers Union (NWU) since 2006. The Executive Officers of UTASA consist of a group of well rounded professional who serve the membership through representation on various committees at all levels. Representation is only made for members thus ensuring that the interests of its members are protected at all times. The Association is a member of the following University committees:

  • HR Operational (Financial Assistance/Study Leave)
