City Tour

A City Tour is planned in August to familiarize students with places they need to know in Kingston and the immediate environs of the UTech campus. The tour is open to all new students, local and international. The tour takes new students to ‘need to know places’ around Kingston and the immediate University environs. Stops are made at shopping malls, Down Town, food courts, and other places of interest. Students are required to register for the tour at the Students Services desk during the week of Orientation or with the International Students’ Office located at the Student Services Building.
International Students’ Reception

The International Students’ Reception is held in October of each year to officially welcome students to the UTech family. The Reception provides students with the opportunity to meet other international students, Deans, Head of Schools, and other senior Faculty and Administrative staff members. This is a social and informal event, but also provides the opportunity to meet the persons who will play a pivotal role in your tenure at UTech.
International Day
February 2011
International Day is usually held in February of each year and is the event of all events! The day showcases to the University population the various countries, their different cultures, foods, etc. Items such as posters, flags, national dishes, arts and craft, etc. are displayed in the booths. The day also provides entertainment and education.
Registrar’s Dinner for Final-year International Students

The Registrar’s Dinner is a formal event for final-year students. It is held in March/April and is attended by Senior Administrative and Academic staff, members of the diplomatic corps and other specially invited guests. All final year international students are encouraged to attend since this is usually the final organized function before their graduation ceremony.
