Throughout the academic year the University assists students by administering a wide variety of awards, bursaries and scholarships donated by firms, industrial enterprises, government agencies and concerned individuals. These are normally awarded on the basis of performance and need.
The purpose of the Financial Aid Office is to assist students with all aspects of financial planning for their tertiary education. Students are advised to budget not only for tuition fees but also for other expenses such as accommodation, meals, books, special equipment and projects. The Six Point Plan outlined below, recommends the following sources for accessing funds to support tuition and other school related expenses:

The Financial Aid Office administers the Scholarships and Bursaries, Earn and Study and Financial Aid Grants Programmes. It also plays a proactive role in identifying other sources of funding for students who are financially challenged. The services offered are as follows:
