VOICES Bi-Monthly Magazine of the University of Technology, Jamaica | October - November 2017 32 A Conversation with Coach Stephen Francis Voices Editor, Michelle Beckford on November 14, 2017 met up with world renowned Track and Field Coach Mr Stephen Francis for a conversation, coming on the heels of his most recent accolade of the Order of Jamaica for “outstanding contribution to Track and Field through Coaching.” The 4 th highest national honour by the Government of Jamaica was presented to Mr Francis on National Heroes Day, October 16, 2017 at the annual ceremony for the Presentation of National Honours and Awards at King’s House. In this interview, the accomplished Coach Francis was easy-going and accommodating, as he kept his eyes on his charges who were busily winding down with stretching exercises following their early morning training routine at the back field, UTech, Jamaica Papine campus.
