I t is my pleasure to welcome new and returning students for the 2019/2020 Academic Year. As you embark on a new phase of your academic journey of life-long learning, I applaud you for your decision to pursue your tertiary studies at Jamaica’s premier national university where “Excellence through Knowledge,” is our hallmark. As a testament to the high quality of our academic programmes, the University was awarded Institu- tional Accreditation by the University Council of Jamaica with effect from February 2018 for a period of 7 years. This stamp of approval also means that we are committed to delivering quality education at international standards. During your sojourn at UTech, Jamaica, I encourage you to participate in the many enriching educa- tional, cultural, sporting and community service programmes available to you.
