Operations of the Office of Admissions and Enrolment Management

The Office of Admissions and Enrolment Management continues on-site and remote operations, as some staff members work from home, where possible. While not open to the public for face to face consultations, we continue to communicate and respond to students, staff and customers via e-mail and telephone.

Applications for AY 2020/2021

  1. Are applications for the 2020/21 academic year still being accepted?
  • Yes. Online applications are still being accepted for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses of study.  
  • To apply persons should visit the University’s website at www.utechjamaica.edu.jm.
  1. How should I submit supporting documents (birth certificate and qualifications)?
  • Supporting documents should be scanned and e-mailed to applicationdocuments@utech.edu.jm.
  • Actual certified documents should be taken in to the Office of Admissions and Enrolment Management, once the office is reopened to the public. Further updates will follow.

How do I request a transfer (from a College or Faculty/Course/Campus) and what is the period for making the request?

  1. Make the request with your College/Faculty
  2. You must be a registered student
  3. Application forms will be available on the University’s Website as of May 11, 2020 and from Colleges/Faculties. Complete and send the form to your College/Faculty by e-mail
  4. Period for summer application:          May 11 – June 12, 2020
  5. Period for Semester 1, AY 2020/21: May 11 – August 21, 2020 (subject to change)

 

What is the contact information for postgraduate admissions and enrolment?

  1. Persons should contact Miss Gavette Francis at gavette.francis@utech.edu.jm.

Enrolment Matters

  1. Can students resolve enrolment issues at this time for Semester 2, AY 2019/20?
  • Students who have selected modules may still have modules added, subject to College/Faculty approval and availability.
  • Students wishing to add modules must contact their respective College/Faculty.
  • The College/Faculty will send the request to notify the Office of Admissions and Enrolment Management
  • No modules will be removed at this time

 

  1. What is the period for summer enrolment and registration?
  • Registration period:                                                    June 1 – 12, 2020
  • Add/Drop period:                                                       June 1 – 19, 2020

 

  1. When are summer classes scheduled to be held?
  • Summer classes are from:                                           June 1 – August, 10, 2020

 

  1. How and when can I apply for transfer of credits and exemptions?
  • Application forms for transfer of credits and exemptions will be available on the University’s website as of May 11, 2020 and from Colleges/Faculties.
  • Application period for transfer of credits/exemptions for the summer, May 11 – June 12, 2020
