Dr. Gabriel Harewood received his BSc. In Chemistry from The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados in 1999, He furthered his education by completing a PhD in Coordination and Bioinorganic Chemistry from University of West Indies, Mona, Jamaica in November 2007. Since August 2005, he was employed as a Lecturer in the University of Technology, Jamaica. In August 2010, was appointed Programme Director of the BSc. in Sport Sciences in the Caribbean School of Sport Sciences.

Dr Harewood also completed a diploma in Small Business Management and a certificate in Financial Security Management.

Revered as an expert in the field of conditioning of athletes Orville Byfield, a master graduate of the International School of Physical Education and Sports in Havana Cuba, has been a nationally recognized coach for over 10 years in the area of track and field in his homeland Jamaica. One of the few International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF) level four (4) coaches to have represented his country at both the junior and senior level, Mr Byfield has moulded several world class athletes.

Based on his expertise and record it was only fitting that he made his home at the University of Technology, Jamaica; the home of world class athletes.

Mr. Richard I. Toomer, Lecturer in the Caribbean School of Sport Sciences (MSc., University of Tennessee, Knoxville) teaches undergraduate courses in Sport Management. His primary scholarly interest includes sport governance, and the impact of ethics and morality in sport management. Secondary fields of interest includes sport sociology, and sport psychology.

Since January 2012, Mr. Toomer has been seconded to the Department of Sport as the Acting Director of Sport.

Dr. Lorie Lawrence received her BSc. In Physical Therapy from The University of the West Indies in 2005, after which she completed one year internship and subsequently started her Physical Therapy career at the Kingston Public Hospital. At the same time Dr Lawrence nurtured her own private practice and furthered her education by completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy from NOVA Southeastern University in May 2010. In August Dr Lawrence joined the Faculty of Science and Sports as a lecturer in Exercise Physiology / Biomechanics and Kinesiology within the Caribbean School of Sport Sciences.

Dr Lawrence currently gives back to the community through her service organization, the Rotaract Club of Kingston; and also serves as a member of professional organizations such as The Physical Therapy Association, The American Physical Therapy Association, and The Jamaica Association of Sports Medicine.

Osbourn ‘The Cuban’ Samuels was born to Jamaicans parents in the little town of Esmeralda in the province of Camaguey, Cuba. Revered as an instinctive sports fanatic, he became a Volleyball coach at the tender age of 15 years old. This marked the start of a more than 20 years old long love affair with volleyball both at the junior and senior level. A Master Ranked Chess player and a former lecturer at the University of Matanzas, Samuels is also well-regarded as a vanguard journeyman in track and field, basketball and football. He is currently a holder of a Diploma in Physical Education, a Bachelor in Science and a Masters in Physical Education and Sports.

Mr. Paulton Gordon is a lecturer in the Caribbean School of Sport Sciences (CSOSS) which is a school based in the Faculty of Science and Sport, University of Technology Jamaica (UTECH). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Management (UWI), and a Masters in Tourism Administration (Major Sport Management) from the George Washington University. In addition, Mr Gordon has an Executive Masters (Managing Sports Organization) from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) under the Olympic Solidarity programme. He has a deep interest in the development of the Sport Tourism as a niche segment in Jamaica's tourism product offerings.

Mr Gordon serves on the board of the Jamaica Basketball Association, as well as the board of the Jamaica Triathlon Association. He also sits on the sports committee of the Community Development and Service division (UTECH). Mr Gordon is a consultant to Ludus Tours, a sport Tour and Hospitality Company based in the USA.

Mrs. Denise Wisdom is in the Caribbean School of Sport Sciences (CSOSS) which is based in the Faculty of Science and Sport, University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech). She holds a Bachelor of Science in Administrative Management (UTech), Post Graduate Diploma in Education and Training (VTDI) and a dual Master of Science Degree in International Sports Management from the London Metropolitan University and State University of New York, Cortland.

Mrs. Wisdom serves on the board of the Jamaica Hockey Federation. She also sits on the Community Service Advisory Committee as well as the Steering Committee of the Sport Entrepreneurship Project (UTech). She is a an international professional member of the North American Society for Sport Management.

Andre Waugh is a Lecturer at the Caribbean School of Sport Sciences in the Faculty of Science and Sport, University of Technology, Jamaica and is the current Head of Technical Sport Certification Division. He holds a Master of Physical Education and Sport, and is in the preparatory phase of Doctoral studies in the Theory and Methodology of Sport Training. His main research interests include the physiological adaptation of the human body due to exercise.

Andre is also the National Physical Trainer at the Jamaica Football Federation Ltd. He was a part of the coaching staff that participated in the 2011 FIFA Under 17 World Cup and 2010 Digicel Caribbean Cup championship winning Senior Reggae Boyz team. He is a former Jamaica Youth Ambassador.

Laurence Garriques is a lecturer in the Caribbean School of Sport Science, University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech). He holds two Masters of Science Degrees, one in Physical Education and Sport and the other in Educational Leadership. His passion is coaching and would like to see the improvement of coaches. He has worked with the Travellers Football Club and was selected as one of the best coaches from the JFF/Utech coaching courses and has worked with the Confederations' teams.

His research interests include scientific papers that can aid in the development of sport in general.
