PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION
The BSc. (PHN) is a post-basic programme which builds on learning experiences derived from accredited basic nursing and midwifery education programmes, as well as post-registration professional experiences.
The programme is designed to produce graduates with competencies in the practice of public health nursing and the ability to develop professionally.
The curriculum reflects the multifaceted roles of the public health nurse and the inter-disciplinary approach to public health practice.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must satisfy the following qualifications
- Candidates must be a registered nurse and registered midwife with current licenses to practice nursing and midwifery in Jamaica or home country
- A minimum of two (2) years relevant post-registration work experience is required.
- Candidates may be required to attend a selection interview.
- Candidates must meet the Nursing Council’s, Jamaica requirements for registration.
