Procedures and Policy
The Department of Sports of the University of Technology, Jamaica are
available to students, faculty members, staff and alumni showing a valid
UTech ID card. All others must visit the Department’s office to request
written authorization for the use of the facilities. All users must make
reservations with the Department of Sports for use of the facilities for
training and competitions. Family Members of Staff and Faculty Members
Staff and faculty members ID cards are not transferable to family
members. Please contact the Department of Sports office for detail
information regarding family members of staff and faculty wishing to use
the facilities.
Rental of the
Auditorium/Sports Facilities The auditorium is available for booking to
all UTech staff and students (conditions apply). All external events
will attract a fee. To make a booking persons are requested to contact
the Sports Office at least two (2) weeks before the event to make their

Alumni Policy
Alumni may also have access to numerous recreational facilities on
campus (weight training room, swimming pool, tennis courts, etc.) at
rates that are much discounted over comparable sports club/fitness
center.
Gym Only those
possessing a valid UTech ID card may use the gym. Upon entry, card must
be shown to the Gym Supervisor and sign-in the register. Proper attire
is required. The supervisor has the right to request anyone not
complying with the rules.
Equipment Issue
for elective students Only persons presenting a valid UTech ID card may
check out equipment from the Sports Office. ID cards will be held until
equipment is returned. Any equipment damaged or lost will result in a
replacement charge.
Swimming Pool
Non-UTech persons must obtain a swim pass from the sports office to gain
access to the pool. Swimmers 16 years of age and younger must be
accompanied by an adult. Showers are required before entering the pool
area. Lifeguards have the authority to request any person not complying
with the rules. All persons entering the swimming pool area are required
to sign-in the register provided at the lifeguard station. |
