The Continuing Education Open and Distance Learning Unit (CEODL) was developed to facilitate the achievement of "the expansion of learning opportunities through flexible access and delivery modes, including offerings by distance and continuing education," (University of Technology, Jamaica’s Academic Development Plan 2000-2004). It is the mission of the CEODL unit to promote, support and further the educational goals and objectives of the University of Technology, Jamaica. This will be achieved by formulating and implementing strategies to: design, develop, market, coordinate, deliver and evaluate a variety of programmes and services. CEODL programmes and services will be designed to be responsive to a primarily non-traditional clientele throughout the nation, broader Caribbean and international region. CEODL programmes will be developed and implemented in partnership with academic, business and professional communities.
